just saw chungking express. fabulous movie. think i'll watch it again...now. faye wong is almost unbearable cute - gives a great/charming performance - a few parts of the film i'm afraid i'm a little puzzled about - it bears repeating. all told an excellent movie - best i've seen in a while...
have gone cross country skiing last two days...well cross park skiing. finally getting a chance to try out my skis. fun, but *very* demanding. parts of me hurt that i didn't know i had
listening to wilco. seems like many bands i start out lukewarm towards i end up liking.
2 more days left in the semester. yesterday and today are kind of pre-winter break. there really is no school work to do - as i graded mondays finals. there are three finals on th/fri which i will then have to hustle to grade after loafing for the past few days.
comment spam is p*ssing me off. makes me want to drop comments or blogging - or perhaps switch to blogger...
as usual reading a couple books at the same time... i.must.focus.
not really int he christmas spirit. not in a bah humbug sort of way, but just because of the frentic activity that accompanies the end of the semester. i'm getting there...
i bought a copy of giant robot magazine (too lazy to link) it's prob. old hat - but it's cool...

i have about 50 there. they did a great job displaying them, although a few were hung upside down or sideways - hey, that's in the tradition of great art, right. anyhow, i have to admit, some are not immediately obvious.
anyhow, got everything straightened out (literally) and looking fwd to the reception on saturday. um, what do i do at the reception?
]]>to criticize it for being stupid is to miss the point. of course, it was stupid, but it was also very funny. granted, sometimes it was a little over the top even for my pedestrian tastes. however, i hope i am never to sophisticated to laugh at loud at smart dumb humour...
or as david letterman said about mike judge, the creator of beavis and butthead it takes a smart person to make something this dumb.
