3 years ago today, i was laid off, or to use my own preferred term, sh*tcanned. at the time, i had already applied for my current teaching position, and being laid off gave me the freedom and the willingness to take a risk i needed to take, but perhaps might not have. i am a new person, reborn as surely as jerry falwell...
