getz and barron: people time

this is perhaps some of the most beautiful and poignant music i've ever heard. it is so even on it's own merits, but is doubly so given this was stan getz last recording and his last concert. nothing groundbreaking, but just straightforward, simple, elegant and beautiful - great tunes played by great masters. the elegance and power of the emotion shines clear. the musicianship is great, but you don't think about it as the foucs is where it ought to be - on the song and its feelings. i can only listen to it once in a while - it is such a beautiful and sad record to listen to....it really is kind of a draining experience...
