the victory by bush will be seen by him as a vindication of his policies. people that voted for bush in 2000 could always make the excuse they did not know what he would do in office. those who voted for him in 2004 cannot make that excuse. by voting him in, you have given your stamp approval to his reckless policies that drive up the deficit, alienate our allies, cause contless suffering for dubious benefit, plunder the environment and erode freedoms. we can only expect more of the same (or worse, now that he won't be facing re-election) and we will deserve it because we have (collectively) given him a mandate. the situation is now damage control...
