well, i've suddenly (and unintentionally) turned into documentary boy...
i have posted recently about seeing this and this...now, ready for something a bit more light-hearted (basic yin and yang, y'all (did i use the phrase "y'all" right, karen?))
and now i've watched step into liquid, a documentary about surfing...
now, i have never surfed, and probably never will. i just learned to swim 2 years ago, after being very afraid of the water. i am glad i have defeated that phobia and do not feel the need to push my luck and get all crazy about it. and i'm perfectly happy to cash in on that aquatic accomplishment and move on to other endeavors, such as sensual bug photography...
the documentary was fabulous...the best documentaries, like the best of non-fiction books, capture the passion the creator has for the topic. you feel caught up in a different world, one that you may or may not otherwise be interested...a real cool thing about this movie, is that it wasn't just about pros, but talked about a lot of ordinary folks and what surfing means to them
