today, i saw reinventing the taliban? a documentary by sharmain obaid, a beautiful and brave director, on discovery times. it is about the rise of fundamentalism in pakistan. extremely well made and highly recommended.
truly scary. i am depressed about the state of the world. pakistan, with nuclear arms, constant border disputes with india - (which also has nuclear arms and india, of course, has also had a history of clashes with china (another nuclear power)) - should it fall under fundamentalist control...i fear for the world...throw us into the mix and you have 4 nuclear powers glaring at each other...even under great leadership, these would be dangerous times...under our current leadership, scarier still...
