if you want drama, don't go to the latest hollywood blockbuster, instead, rent spellbound, a documentary about 8 contestants in the 1999 national spelling bee.
the contestants are a bit scary in their obsession at times - and there is a lot of unintentional humor from both the contestants and their families. however, the film has a genuine affection for the contestants. the eight come from very different backgrounds, but show the same work ethic and dedication. it should be required viewing for any folks out there who like to bash the current younger generation.
